Even though later she falls for him, she cannot make a commitment to him. When he proposes, Nandini refuses and he learns about her tragic past, where her life is caught in the jaws of her past. Nandini initially ignores his advances and that really bothers Shivam. Shivam fall's head-over-heels in love with Nandini and decides to make a lifelong commitment to her.
